Is this implant course designed for beginner dentists?
Yes. This implant course for general dentists is designed for beginner to intermediate clinicians. Around 60% of participants have never placed an implant before. The prerequisite is an active dental license and the ability to perform extractions.
Do participants place implants on live patients?
Yes. Licensed hands-on participants perform live-patient implant surgery under direct chairside mentorship. Most doctors can expect to place approximately 20–30 implants, depending on clinical skills, case complexity, and pace.
Who provides the implant surgery mentorship?
Dr. Farid Ebrahim, DDS and Dr. Farshad Athari, DDS both trained at Northwestern University and provide direct chairside mentorship throughout every surgical session.
What implant procedures are included in the training?
The curriculum covers implant treatment planning, live-patient implant placement, immediate implant placement, guided bone regeneration and bone grafting, sinus lift techniques, soft tissue management, and implant complication management.
How many doctors attend each live-patient implant course?
Each course is limited to 5 doctors with 2 mentors, supporting focused hands-on implant training, direct mentorship, and meaningful surgical access.

Where is the live-patient dental implant course held?
The four-day course is held at the 3rdSET Surgical Training Clinic in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The all-inclusive tuition includes scheduled transportation between the airport, hotel, and clinic.
Is lodging and transportation included in the dental implant course?
Yes. The $16,000 tuition is all-inclusive. It covers implants and instruments, four nights of hotel accommodations, all scheduled meals, dental materials and disposables, and airport ↔ hotel ↔ clinic transportation.
What travel is each participant responsible for?
Participants are responsible for arranging travel to and from San Diego International Airport, including flights, ground transportation, lodging, and related accommodations before and after course participation. Participants traveling from regions subject to seasonal weather or travel disruptions are strongly advised to arrive in San Diego at least one day before the course start date.
What border access is included?
The all-inclusive course package includes medical fast-pass and SENTRI lane access for expedited US-Mexico border crossing.

How much is tuition for hands-on surgeons and observers?
The current course source lists hands-on surgeon tuition at $16,000 and observer tuition at $3,000. The hands-on surgeon package is all-inclusive and limited to 5 seats.
When is course registration confirmed?
Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment. A confirmation email is sent once registration is processed.
What payment methods and fees apply?
Payments must be made in full prior to the course start date. 3rdSET accepts major credit cards and other approved payment methods. Financing is available via 3rdSET Finance. A 3.6% surcharge applies to credit card payments, debit cards are not surcharged, and bank wire transfers incur a $26 fee.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. For 40+ days before course start, only credit card fees are non-refundable. For less than 30 days before start, $1,000 plus credit card fees are non-refundable. For less than 14 days before start, $3,000 plus credit card fees are non-refundable.
